MEDITATION AND THE FEMININE SPIRITUAL PATH

Most of us have experience primarily with a masculine approach to spirituality, as the traditional forms we grew up with tend to have been led by and developed by men.  This has naturally led to a tendency to view, interpret and value the spiritual path from a more masculine perspective.
Unfortunately, this has led to feminine knowledge and experiences of the divine being lost and/or denegrated.  In this class, we explore the feminine path - for example, experiencing the mutuality of spirituality and the natural world; exploring intuition and the possibility of a personal experience of the divine; holding a world view that does not have a beginning, middle and end, but instead sees life and death as a continuous circle of creation.

The class is a combination of presentation and discussion of chosen topics along with meditations and exploration of different ways to experience the divine feminine.

BEGINNERS' MEDITATION CLASS - ST. STEPHEN

Weekly classes focus on the basics of concentration and awareness meditation, and with the experiences and pitfalls that one can encounter during practice.  It is a combination of practice and discussion.  Learning to meditate in a group can be inspiring and supportive, much like the support that geese get from one another when they fly in V formation - our practice carries others along, and we are bouyed by their practice as well.  All who attend say that  meditating in the weekly class is a different experience than meditating on their own, and that it gives them the push to keep their practice going through the rest of the week.
